Our Training Times & Instructors

The academy currently trains at Chepstow leisure centre.

Training times are:


Wednesday:  6:30 - 7:30 pm Junior Grades & 7:30 - 9:00 pm Senior Grades @ Chepstow leisure centre main hall.


Sunday:  11:00 am - 12:00 pm All Grades @ Chepstow leisure centre main hall.



Chepstow Taekwon-Do Academy Instructors.


Currently the academy's instructors are:


Principle Academy Instructor and Grading Examiner - Mr Ken Bloomfield, 6th Dan


Academy Instructor - Mr Justin Telang, 5th Dan


Academy Instructor & Student Welfare Officer - Miss Alix Byrne, 4th Dan


Assistant Instructor & Web Editor - Mr Steve Pole, 3rd Dan


Secretary - Mrs Mandy Bloomfield

Principle Instructor and Grading Examiner


Mr Bloomfield has 20 years’ experience in Taekwon-Do and has been teaching for 15 years.


As the Principle Instructor Mr Bloomfield is responsible for all policy decisions within the academy, to ensure it is run efficiently and effectively for the benefit of all students. He is keen that ALL students are encouraged to fill their absolute potential.


As the academy's Grading Examiner Mr Bloomfield is responsible for holding regular gradings to ensure students are able to monitor their progress effectively. His overarching responsibility however is to ensure the academy maintains a good standard of Taekwon-Do through rigorous examinations.


Mr Justin Telang 3rd Dan

Senior Assistant Instructor


Mr Telang has been training in Taekwon-Do for 9 years and has been teaching for the last 5 years.


Mr Telang’s role is to support the Priciple Instructor in all aspect of running the academy (on many occasions acting as a sounding board for the Principle Instructor) and to deputise for Mr Bloomfield when he is unable to take training.


Mr Telang’s continued support is invaluable to the Principle Instructor.

Miss Alix Byrne 2nd Dan

Assistant Instructor & Student Welfare Officer


Miss Byrne has been training in Taekwon-Do for 4 years and is the newest addition to our teaching staff.


Like Mr Telang, Miss Byrne's role is to support the Principle Instructor in all aspect of running the academy.


As the Student Welfare Officer (SWO) Miss Byrne’s role is to act as an independent representative of students or parents/guardians. Should any students have any concerns regarding the behaviour of any of the academy's officers or students they are encouraged to inform the SWO.
